University of Illinois Golf Course

Early in 2000 GGP expanded its operation across the border into Illinois when it was awarded the management contract by the Athletic Department at the University. Under the management of GGP the golf course has seen over $600,000 in capital improvements with new wall-to-wall cart paths, a new driving range facility and an extensive bunker renovation project. The interior of the Pro Shop has received a significant face lift and renovations to the Snack Bar operation were completed earlier this season. This 36-hole operation averages over 72,000 rounds per year. The golf course recently hosted the 50th Anniversary of the “U of I Open” where many returning alumni complimented the success of the operation as well as the exceptional golf course conditions. The University has rewarded our efforts by extending the lease and management contract through the year 2014.
